The contemporary state-of-the-art of mathematical modelling of rectification columns

This is a review of current research in mathematical modeling of the dynamics of distillation columns. We present the complete model of the distillation column plate. We demonstrate that all current models can be obtained from the complete model using various simplifying assumptions. Validity of such assumptions is discussed. We also present equations to describe flows of the model.
