Abstract: An algorithm for the numerical solution of the plasma kinetic equation in 1D3V geometry is developed. For the nonlinear collision operator the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method is used. An ambipolar electric field corresponds to the electroneutrality condition at each timestep. The numerical results for the relaxation of the initial temperature perturbation in a collisional plasma in 1D3V geometry are presented and compared with the nonlocal heat transport model.

Keywords: Coulomb collisions, Landau equation, Boltzmann equation, Monte Carlo method, nonlocal heat transport.
