Creating tools for design and operational works for ballistic ensuring of space missions. Operation control work at the first computers

A. K. Platonov, R. K. Kazakova

Abstract: Preprint describes how ballistic operative control of space projects support in 1950’s–1970’s was being made in the Keldysh Institute. We discuss the circumstances of solving the key ballistics problems of the first flights to the moon and planets. The story concerns of management & execution methods for operational working during determining trajectory of the observed motion and its correction.

Keywords: ballistics, operative calculations, orbit determination, orbit correction.
