Abstract: The computer code, NDSPDE, was developed based on the finite element method for stresses analysis of complex geometric shapes designs in a plane strain. The code allows you to carry out numerical structural studies of electromagnetic accelerator (EMA) barrels under various electromechanical loads taking into account the orthotropic properties of used constructive materials. Depending on the requirements for durability and stiffness of the EMA barrel, the numerical studies results make it possible to select suitable materials of constructions, to optimize both the barrel design and the barrel electromechanical loading conditions. The code allows you to present the calculation results in convenient form for engineering practice.
This paper also presents the numerical results of the barrel cross-section parameters estimation of EMA, including the prestressed glass fiber overwrap, rails, and insulators. Both stresses and durability of the structural elements estimations of EMA barrel were executed.

Keywords: electromagnetic accelerator, barrel, orthotropic materials, stress-deformed state, finite element method, code.
