Abstract: The purpose of this publication is to draw attention to a class of large problems of aerospace remote sensing and global monitoring of the Earth's climate as a planet, for which solutions require parallel supercomputers and high-performance supercomputers. A spherical model of the Earth's radiation field is proposed to simulate the spectral and global albedo of the planet and a bit of history.

Keywords: research, climate evolution, planet Earth, remote sensing, spectral albedo model, computer simulation, Soviet lunar program.
