Numerical simulation of two-phase flows with the moving interface by the finite superelements method

L. G. Strakhovskaya

Abstract: The numerical simulation of the two-phase flows of the viscous incompressible fluid without the mixing with the moving interface is based on the finite superelements method (FSEM). The position of the phase boundary is achieved by the level set method. The level function satisfies the equation of transfer, has the zero level on the interface and values in the fields of different phases opposite on the sign, which makes it possible to describe a change of the interface position. The calculations of two-phase flow in the flat duct and in the channel over a backward-facing step are made.
