Abstract:
The work is dedicated to Nikita Dmitrievna Vvedenskaya, a mathematician, a well-known person in the mathematical circles of Moscow, who lived a long and productive life. The part of Vvedenskaya's contribution to science related to her work at the Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics (KIAM) is described. Vvedenskaya proposed in the 60s computational algorithms for solving problems of the theory of the laminar boundary layer. The results obtained have become widely cited classics. Her work with co-authors from KIAM on the problem of flowing around bodies with a viscous incompressible fluid and along currents modeling atmospheric processes is the basis for further research and is world famous.
