Development of a data converter from the integrated CAD-CAE system Salome into an application code for the mesh-based numerical solution of initial-boundary value problems

Abstract: To perform the calculations in domains of complex shapes by RMGD code MARPLE 3D we use the CAD-CAE platform SALOME. SALOME differs from typical CAD-systems in support of a variety of tools for marking of the elements of various dimensions both at the geometry and mesh levels. SALOME can also be used as a platform for integration of the external third-party software. SALOME is primarily aimed at preparation of a computational domain for the numerical simulation and analysis of numerical results. This circumstance was the impetus for the creation of a data converter which is used as a preprocessing tool providing import of data from SALOME into the application software package MARPLE3D. In this paper we discuss the experience of this data converter development. The work of the converter is illustrated by examples of computational meshes produced by SALOME and imported into the MARPLE3D.
