Numerical investigation of the Finite Superelement Method for the solution of the “well” problem for Laplace equation

Abstract: In this paper (finite superelement method) FSEM is numerically investigated. Different variants of FSEM that are based on the variety of interpolation techniques on a superelement’s boundary and on the ways of regular domain decomposition are considered. A comparative analysis of these approaches for the solution of the “well” problem for Laplace equation is carried out. FSEM and FEM efficiency comparison is presented. Quantitative data on errors are obtained for the model problem.
