Simulation of illumination of cloth with distinct yarn structure

Abstract: This paper presents the new and effective algorithm for simulation of illumination of cloth with distinct yarn structure. The algorithm requires a large number of preprocessing efforts, therefore a lot of attention is paid to the questions of yarn parametrization and storage of the precomputed data. The algorithm takes into account such important aspects of cloth illumination as light interreflections in yarns and fibers. The proposed algorithm supports simulation of cloth within the accepted time frame (tens of minutes) and has low memory requirements.
