Abstract: In 2000 access points for most of the national research and education networks, such as RBNet, RUNNET and RASNET, were first organized in the Far East of Russia. This was the beginning of the active development of the non-commercial networks and the capacity to use new information technology to solve problems in various scientific areas.
The article gives a description of Regional Computer Network of Far Eastern Branch of the RAS, uniting most of scientific Branch institutions, as well as a description of modern information technologies facilitated implementation and examples of systems developed on their basis.
