On an approximate method for identifying systems with distributed parameters

Abstract: An approximate method for identifying the parameters of dynamical systems described by linear parabolic and hyperbolic equations is proposed. Identification consists in determining the Green's function or the coefficients of the equation. The method is based on reducing the problem to an equation in convolutions. It is shown that this method is applicable to restore the initial conditions for a known output signal and Green's function. Numerical examples are given.
