Abstract:
Using the hardware-software system simultaneous study of synchronic daily measurements of variations of the electric field of the atmosphere at the mountain station (peak Cheget) and on the plain (Nalchik) were performed. Significant surge up to 6 kV / m were recorded on the Cheget peak. This is associated with the change of weather conditions (a precipitation in the form of snow). At the same time, the
station on the plains registered a minor change in the intensity with a maximum up to +400 V / m, which
is typical for this time of year. The analysis showed that the overall trend of the electric field is well explained by the weather conditions in which the observations were made, in particular, precipitation in the
form of snow leads to significant changes in the electric field of the surface layer of the atmosphere.
