Abstract:
On materials of long-term supervision on meteorological stations and instrumental registration of a
thunder-storms registration network of Federal State Budgetary Institution High-mountain Geophysical
Institute, maps and charts of seasonal changes of number of days with a thunder-storm in a months and
in a year for the territory of the South of the European part of Russia are constructed. Features of yearly
number of days with a thunder-storm and distributions of storm activity on the territory are revealed.
Areas with the maximum and minimum repeatability of thunder-storms are defined and the characteristic
is given to their seasonal variations. The received results can be used for carrying out lightning protection
actions and for monitoring of the weather phenomena.
