Abstract: Induced absorption resonance on the open F _g = 1 → F _e = 2 transition of the D ₁ line of the ⁸⁷Rb atom has been observed. The effect of atomic motion on the formation of the resonance has been revealed. The numerical calculations are in good agreement with experiment.
