Ferromagnetic ordering of iron impurities in the Kondo semiconductor SmB6

Abstract: The Kondo semiconductor SmB6 doped with 1 at. % Fe has been studied by the EPR method. The ferromagnetic ordering of iron ions observed at a relatively high temperature of 100 K is explained by their indirect exchange via the polarization of the SmB6 matrix, which is enhanced owing to fluctuating-valence ions.
