Abstract:
The appearance of an electric field component normal to the transport current has been revealed in NbSe$_3$ single crystals in the region of phase transitions to the Peierls state. It has been shown that the arising transverse voltage is $V_{xy}\propto dR_{xx}/dT$. This effect is explained by the redistribution of the current caused by the spatial inhomogeneity of the critical temperature of the Peierls transition.
