Simple estimate of the critical length of a quantum communication channel with attenuation for coherent-state quantum cryptography

Abstract: For the B92 protocol with allowance for real attenuation and phase interruption of signal states in a one-dimensional optical fiber, a simple estimate is obtained for the critical length of the quantum communication channel that can provide secure key distribution.
