Abstract:
The magnetoresistance of a 2D electron gas confined in narrow GaAs quantum wells with AlAs/GaAs superlattice barriers is studied in the classical range of magnetic fields. It is shown that the negative magnetoresistance observed in this kind of structures with nonplanar heterointerfaces is semiclassical and qualitatively agrees with the model of negative magnetoresistance due to the scattering of charge carriers by two types of random potential, namely, the short-range and long-range ones.
