New mechanism of the enhancement of the Goos–Hanchen effect at an interface between transparent media

Abstract: It has been shown that an increase in the longitudinal displacement of a beam of TM (TE) waves even in the case of a single interface between transparent media is possible owing to the resonance excitation of an evanescent wave with the corresponding polarization if the energy flux through the interface is identically zero.
