Abstract:
The two-neutron drip line for heavy nuclei from lead to the element of charge number $Z=120$ was studied with the energy density functional (EDF) proposed by Fayans, FaNFD$^0$. The calculations performed for this purpose were based on a standard approach where the EDF parameters were fixed at the values fitted to the properties of stable nuclei. The results found in this way were compared with the predictions obtained by using several popular Skyrme EDF versions. The results of the calculations with the HFB-17 and HFB-27 energy density functionals were borrowed from tables available on the Internet, whereas the respective calculations for the SLy4 and SkM* versions were performed in the present study.
