Abstract:
Features of the propagation of electromagnetic waves in an inhomogeneous plasma at frequencies close to the electron-cyclotron resonance have been studied experimentally. It has been established that the main flux of electromagnetic radiation near the cyclotron resonance is perpendicular to the magnetic field lines. The amplitude of this radiation reaches a maximum at a plasma frequency $\omega_{pe}$ of about 0.3 of the cyclotron frequency $\omega_{He}$.
