Abstract: A possible explanation of the square scaling observed in the time dependence of the velocity of shear motions in a metallic glass has been proposed. Numerous experiments demonstrating this scaling in the time variation range by four orders of magnitude and in the shear band velocity range by nine orders of magnitude indicate its universality and the possibility of separating mechanisms of strain localization in metallic glasses.
