Abstract: We consider the simplest model for temperature-linear growth of the resistivity in metals. It is shown that the so-called “Planckian” limit for the temperature dependent relaxation rate of electrons follows from a certain procedure for representation of experimental data on the resistivity and, in this sense, is a kind of delusion.
