Abstract:
A new approach has been proposed to describe parity violation in the scattering of polarized protons by protons at high energies. It has been shown that the $P$-odd proton–proton scattering amplitude in the tree approximation is much smaller than the $P$-odd proton-neutron scattering amplitude. Radiative corrections caused by the charge-exchange strong interaction are mainly responsible for $P$-odd asymmetry in proton-proton scattering. It has been predicted that asymmetry in the inelastic scattering cross section is much smaller than asymmetry in the elastic scattering cross section.
