Abstract: A new crystalline phase of nitrogen that has the P-62c symmetry of the crystal lattice and is stable at zero external pressure has been revealed in ab initio calculations. Its structural, mechanical, electronic, and phononic properties at various pressures have been studied. The results obtained have been compared with the known nitrogen phases stable at low pressures.
