Abstract:
The spectrum of the 10Be nucleus in a wide range of excitation energies has been calculated within the no-core shell model. An extrapolation procedure has been used to refine the positions of levels. The widths of the alpha decay of resonance states of this nucleus have been calculated using an original cluster channels orthogonal functions method involving the no-core shell model wavefunctions. A mode of the emission of alpha particles not only into the $\alpha$ + $^6$He channel but also into the $\alpha$ + $^6$He*(2$^+$) channel, which is unique for the alpha decay of light nuclei, has been theoretically predicted. This mode is not only characteristic of anomalous-parity states but also plays a noticeable role in the decay of high-spin normal-parity states; this channel is dominant for some such resonances.
