Calculation of the cross sections for neutron scattering on the $^9$Be nucleus using ab initio calculated asymptotic normalization coefficients and decay widths
Abstract:
A theoretical approach has been presented to calculate cross sections for resonant nuclear reactions involving ab initio calculation results. These results include the asymptotic normalization coefficients of bound states and partial decay widths of resonant ones.. It has been shown on an example of the $^9$Be$(n, n)^9$Be process that these initial data used to calculate the neutron scattering cross sections allow the description of its cross section with a high accuracy. It has been demonstrated at the same time that the existing accuracy of ab initio calculations of the resonance energies is insufficient for the purely theoretical description of the scattering cross section. For this reason, the approach is developed as “hybrid” partially based on the use of the experimental resonance energies of known levels.
