Abstract: An analog of scattering data for the operators which are strong limits of reflectionless Dirac operators is introduced and the corresponding inverse problem is solved. On this basis a method of solving the Cauchy problems for nonlinear Schrödinger equation with initial data from a wide set of nonvanishing at infinity functions is developed.
