Abstract:
The paper considers the process of heat and mass transfer during the flow of moist air and formation of frost in the inter-fin space of an air heat exchanger at temperature below 0$^\circ$C. The mathematical model is based on a system of stationary equations of gas dynamics that describes the flow of moist air in a channel of variable cross section and on a non-stationary system of equations for determining frost deposition on a flat surface. The results of computational modelling of the formation of layer of frost on a surface of a fin with given temperature distribution are presented. It is shown that temperature distribution of the fin surface has a significant influence on frost formation.
