Abstract: A model of the distribution of nonuniform electrostatic field is proposed for a system with variable configuration of electrodes that generates high-voltage discharge. It is shown that conformal mapping of a function of complex variable can be used for analytical study of the distribution of field equipotential lines depending on the diameter of a circular orifice in the anode ($D$ = 1 – 5 mm), anode thickness ($\Delta h$ = 0.5 – 5 mm), and interelectrode distance ($h$ = 1.2 – 5 mm). Calculated images of electric field are used to determine relationship with electrophysical parameters of the electrode system. Extensive experimental data on the specific features of the discharge are supplemented and specified with the aid of the calculated results.
