Abstract:
An electrostatic two-electrode energy analyzer with two simple electrodes (a planar electrode and a grounded corner electrode) is proposed. The main geometrical and electric parameters are specified. Computer simulation of the energy analyzer operation is performed in the spectrograph regime with two ranges of energy $E_{\operatorname{max}}/E_{\operatorname{min}}$ of 100 and 60. It is shown that the energy resolution is no worse than 1% in the former range and achieves (0.1–0.25)% in the latter range.
