Abstract: The field emission properties of carbon nanocluster structures and films based on them have been considered. Experimental data, including VAC, at static and pulse modes have been presented. The analysis of size effects, effect of field penetration, and hysteresis effect has been performed. The theoretical explanations of them have been given.

Keywords: autoelectronic emission, diamond-graphite nanocluster films, current-voltage characteristics, pulse field emission, negative electron affinity, dimensional effects, resonance tunneling.
