Formation of the diode pump radiation field in a gas laser cuvette

Abstract: The paper considers a variant of the system of transverse input of pump radiation of laser diode modules with fiber output into the cuvette of an alkali metal vapor laser. Experiments have been carried out to study the radiation distribution from a single power optical fiber with a diameter of 400 $\mu$m. Based on the results of the experiment, a software model of the fiber end face with the given spatial and angular characteristics of radiation was created. Experiments have been carried out to study the distribution of radiation intensity in different cross-sections inside the laser core from a 20.5 $\times$ 10.5 mm radiation source. A digital analog of the optical path of pump radiation input into the active medium has been created in the software package, which shows good agreement with the obtained experimental data.
