Abstract: The object of investigation is a transient process in a parallel-coupled accelerating structure consisting of accelerating and exciting cavities with regard to losses and beam current loading. Relationships for the oscillation amplitudes in the cavities under transient and stationary conditions, accelerating voltage, and critical current are derived. The feasibility of accelerating voltage stabilization by delaying the beam injection relative to a pulse from a generator is demonstrated.
