Abstract: The height of thiocyanogen reduction peak on cyclic voltammograms of thiocyanate ion can serve as the criterion for thiocyanogen reactivity towards hetarenes present in the electrolyte. This allows one to predict the efficiency of anodic thiocyanation of various hetarenes.

Keywords: electrosynthesis, aryl thiocyanates, electrooxidative C–H functionalization, hetarenes, nucleophiles, cyclic voltammetry.
