Abstract: It has been revealed that the maximum temperature of self-heating of a compacted sample prepared from non-passivated iron nanopowder decreases with increasing its relative density, which indicates that the oxidation process is limited by the diffusion supply of oxidant. The passivation method for the compacted samples made of iron nanopowder has been developed.
