Eight new trifluoromethyl derivatives of [60]fullerene, C₆₀(CF₃)₁₆

Abstract: Eight new C₆₀(CF₃)₁₆ isomers have been synthesized by high-temperature trifluoromethylation of [60]fullerene with gaseous CF₃I, isolated by HPLC, and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction using synchrotron radiation.
