Abstract: The properties of substance of interfacial structures, which is spontaneously formed in the interfacial layer of a liquid/ liquid system upon the extraction of rare earth elements (REEs) with di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) solutions, are mostly determined by the nature of REE and the solvent for D2EHPA. The interfacial substance based on REEs of the yttrium subgroup has higher density, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity and hydrophobicity.
