Abstract: Recently discovered room temperature methylammonium reactive polyiodide melts (RPM) known as perspective precursors for hybrid perovskite solar cells were completely isolated for the first time into a new RPM–starch complex. This complex is of interest both for the study of polyiodide structure and the development of a new and scalable technology of hybrid perovskite synthesis as a photoactive material for perovskite solar cells.
