Abstract: It has been found that leaching of AmIII from the surface after the sorption is characterized by slow kinetics; over 10 days are required to reach a dynamic equilibrium in the system. The leaching process is accompanied by the formation of Am-containing phosphate phase on the sorbent surface. Annealing the sample at 400°C for 5h after sorption results in incorporation of the sorbed cation into the sorbent structure, which allows subsequent leaching to be reduced considerably.
