Abstract: The herein obtained 1-diethylamino-6-methyl-1,3-dihydrofuro[3,4-c]pyridin-7-ol or its 1-ethoxy analogue in their reactions with phenols or polyphenols undergo replacement of Et₂N/OEt groups with (poly)hydroxyaryl moieties.
