Abstract: New dihetarylethenes of 5-coumarinyl-4-pyrrolylthiazole chemotype depending on the nature of the substituent at the bridging fragment are capable of either photochromic modulation of the fluorescent properties or emission with anomalous Stokes shift due to the ESIPT-effect.
