Abstract: The sorption characteristics and diffuse reflectance and EPR spectra of osmium surface complexes showed that Os8+ and Os6+ in OsO4 and K2[OsO2Cl4], respectively, react with mercaptopropyl groups, whereas Os4+ in K2[OsCl6] reacts with aminopropyl groups covalently bound to a silica gel surface.
