Silica microsphere decoration with silver nanoparticles by an impregnation and reduction technique

Abstract: A simple impregnation–reduction technique is suggested to prepare a nanocomposite of silica microspheres and silver nanoparticles demonstrating plasmonic resonance for possible applications in surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy for biomedical studies.
