Trifluoromethyl derivatives of fullerene C₇₀, C₇₀(CF₃)₂, C₇₀(CF₃)₈ and C₇₀(CF₃)₁₄

Abstract: The reaction of C₇₀ with higher C₇₀(CF₃)_n or annealing of the latter followed by HPLC separation of reaction products resulted in an isolation of C₇₀(CF₃)₂, C₇₀(CF₃)₈ and C₇₀(CF₃)₁₄. X-ray diffraction study revealed molecular structure of the three isomers that are compared with other known C₇₀(CF₃)_n derivatives.
