Delocalized methoxyacetone radical cation: structure and reactivity

Abstract: The radical cation (RC) of methoxyacetone exhibits a delocalization of spin density between two oxygen atoms with considerable spin population on methylene hydrogen atoms, which results in the selective deprotonation of this RC.
