Abstract: An X-ray diffraction study of C₇₀(CF₃)₈·1.5PhMe resulted in the first structure determination of C₂-C₇₀(CF₃)₈, the isomer with a para⁷ string of eight CF₃ groups around the equator of the carbon cage.
