Abstract: 11-Phenoxy-2-phenylnaphth[2,3-f]indole-5,10-dione has been synthesized, its photochromic properties have been studied, and photoinduced 10-phenoxy-2-phenylnaphth[2,3-f]indole-5,11-dione has been isolated.
