Abstract: A mass-spectrometric study of gaseous products evolved during the solid-phase reaction of uranium(IV) sulfate (tetrahydrate) with sodium perxenate (octahydrate) at 20–170 °C revealed xenon, its oxides in intermediate oxidation states (II, IV, VI), oxygen and water; pulsed stepwise gas evolution was noted in this reaction.
